Queer Affirmative Therapy

Queer-Affirmative Therapy at Vriddhi Centre for Mental Health provides culturally competent, evidence-based mental health care that validates and supports LGBTQIA+ identities. Our therapists are trained in minority-stress frameworks, intersectionality, and culturally sensitive approaches to address common concerns such as anxiety, depression, identity-related distress, coming-out challenges, relationship conflicts, and trauma. We emphasize an affirming therapeutic stance—respecting chosen names/pronouns, exploring identity safely, and fostering resilience—while using modalities like CBT, narrative therapy, couple/relationship therapy, and supportive psychotherapy.

This service is designed for individuals, couples, and families seeking nonjudgmental, identity-affirming care. Clinical work includes psychoeducation about minority stress, coping skills for stigma-related stress, trauma-informed stabilization, and practical support for gender-affirming transitions (referrals, navigation of services) where needed. Confidentiality, informed consent, and collaborative care planning are central: therapy is paced to the client’s goals and comfort, whether short-term skill building or longer term identity integration and relational work.
