Dialectical Behavioural Therapy

At Vriddhi Centre for Mental Health, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is a structured, skills-based psychotherapy designed to help individuals regulate intense emotions, reduce impulsive behaviours, and improve interpersonal effectiveness. Originally developed by Marsha M. Linehan, Dialectical Behavior Therapy combines cognitive-behavioural techniques with mindfulness and acceptance strategies. DBT is particularly effective for individuals experiencing emotional dysregulation, self-harm behaviours, chronic relationship conflicts, borderline personality traits, and mood instability.

At Vriddhi, DBT sessions focus on four core skill modules: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Our clinicians tailor DBT interventions for adolescents and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma-related difficulties, and personality vulnerabilities. Delivered in a structured, goal-oriented format, DBT helps clients build practical coping skills, improve resilience, and create long-term behavioural change through measurable therapeutic outcomes.
