Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) at Vriddhi Centre for Mental Health is a time-limited, evidence-based therapy focused on improving mood and functioning by addressing interpersonal problems and role transitions. IPT targets the link between interpersonal stressors—such as grief, role disputes, role transitions, and social isolation—and emotional symptoms. Our clinicians use structured sessions to identify problem areas, improve communication skills, and build social supports that reduce depressive symptoms and strengthen everyday functioning.
IPT is suitable for people with depression, recurrent mood episodes, adjustment difficulties, and interpersonal stress after major life changes (divorce, bereavement, relocation, new parenthood). Treatment typically combines symptom-focused strategies (mood monitoring, activity scheduling) with interpersonal interventions (communication analysis, role-play, grief work) and is calibrated to client needs—short-term (12–16 sessions) for acute issues or longer when integration with other therapies is indicated. Confidential, collaborative care and measurable progress tracking are standard.
